Lachmee Chin was brought to ODP Architect & Design in 2005 to create, set-up, develop and lead the design division of the firm. She brings a “Listen First” approach to the team and has the unique ability to translate ideas and discussions into built forms. Her refined and relentless attention to detail has garnered her critical acclaim as she’s designed some of the most exclusive residences including the luxury penthouse suites in the Four Seasons Hotel.
Driven by the courage and will to go beyond the standard streamlined fashion of the day, Lachmee creates with her passion and enthusiasm for materials, textures, colors, wine, art, and fast cars (especially the Aston Martin DB9). Working as Director of Design and cultivating relationships with key vendors, Lachmee’s energetic and positive work ethic permeates the firm with a grace and manner that allows ODP to request and deliver the impossible on a consistent basis.
Originally from Guyana, South America, and raised with an Indian background, Lachmee’s diverse heritage as well as her fine art background gives her the foundation to add a richness of culture and finesse rarely seen in today’s design world. Her recent accolades include the 2010 Designer with Flare Awards winner for Best Great Room/Living Room. Lachmee has a National Certification for Interior Design Qualification and is licensed in the state of Florida and currently serves as Interior Design critic for design studios at Florida International University (FIU).
